About the Artist

Jasmine Best is a true Southern Artist,

gathering narratives from her Carolinian family and childhood. The Georgia-based artist uses her memories and manipulations of her memories to create dialogues about the black femme identity in the South.

She holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. Best is enrolled in a Master of Fine Arts program at the University of Georgia.

Best has shown at the Contemporary Art Museum in Raleigh, SECCA, and the African American Museum in Dallas. Best’s work has been published by Vox Populi and Commonthreads Press.
